LOWER MURRAY RURAL WATER
AUTHORITY

Lower Murray Water and Sunraysia Rural Water Authority merged in 2004 to create a significantly larger Water Authority, now trading under the name Lower Murray Water. This has created an authority with greater financial, investment, planning, resources and political strength, to meet the challenges of the water industry.

FIRST MILDURA IRRIGATION
TRUST (FMIT)

FMIT was established in 1887 and now operates as an Authority under Section 118 of the Water Act. Accordingly it has the functions as detailed under Part 11 of the Water Act 1989 including, "to provide, manage and operate systems for the supply of water to irrigable lands and for the appropriate drainage and protection of those lands". A Master Plan was developed in 2004 for the upgrade of Trust infrastructure.

WESTERN MURRAY IRRIGATION
Western Murray Irrigation Limited (WMI) is an unlisted public company established in 1995. It is responsible for the operation of the Buronga, Curlwaa and Coomealla Irrigation areas of New South Wales. All pumping stations operated by WMI are fully automated, and the supply system is fully piped.

CENTRAL IRRIGATION TRUST
Central Irrigation Trust operates fully automated and piped schemes in the South Australian Riverland, offering computerised water on order. The Trust covers Berri, Barmera, Waikerie, Cadell, Loxton, Renmark, Mypolonga, Moorook and Kingston districts.

RENMARK IRRIGATION TRUST
Renmark Irrigation Trust delivers water through underground pipelines from a main pumping station on the River Murray, and three re-lift pumping stations. The Trust has some Private Diverters under its licence and these irrigators pump their own water from the River Murray or from Creeks or Billabongs.
